Taipei 'diarygate' giving some VIPs sleepless nights

Taiwan's celebrity circles, "government" officials and major businessmen are no doubt trembling with trepidation after police seized the "Queen of Pimps'" diary and contact book earlier this week.
The 1995 Miss Chinese Taipei finalist Lin Wei-wei, 36, runs a piano bar for "gentlemen" but on the side has allegedly been setting up dates with wealthy clients for fees ranging from NT$60,000 ($1,880) to NT$200,000 per hour, according to a Sohu report.
Extras were obviously ... extra.
Lin was caught in the police web after minor model Timi Hsiao (aka Xiao Yiting), 27, was caught "red-handed" dealing drugs along with her 24-year-old male accomplice, on Friday.
Hsiao fessed up that she was not only selling drugs on the street, but also her body. She is said to have admitted 10 "liaisons" with various men since July last year. The trail led to Lin and police took her into custody, along with the diary and contact book that are said to contain names and details of many VIPs. Both "ladies" have been released.
A hot topic of gossip this week is Chen Kun's love chzild. Or not. There have been rumors for a long time the actor and singer has a boy who is now 8 years old. Chen recently appeared on a Taiwan talk show and seemed to admit, for the first time, the boy was his.
But in an odd U-turn Chen's publicist has been telling anyone who cares to listen that the media misinterpreted his client's words and the issue was not resolved.
On a more circumspect note, Jane Zhang, the former Supergirl winner, said she has learned to dress more conservatively - and this means no more see-through or low-cut dresses. According to a Phoenix website article the singer, 25, was mortified after she revealed more than she intended when she wore a light, gauzy number for a performance two years ago.
Another singer known for her circumspection is Karen Mok, 39 but perfectly preserved, who has been loveless since breaking up with the debonair actor/director Stephen Fung last year.
At a promotional event in Hainan media pressed her to reveal whether she was having a relationship with producer and musician, Zhang Yadong. The Hong Kong diva wouldn't give a straight answer and merely retorted that she was only working with Zhang because the "last album (we did together) sold well."
"He is talented and we have something in common and that is music."
She admitted the gossip was "understandable", but added she does not have to comment on rumors.
Finally, diving champion-turned actor Tian Liang has denied that strangers in a Nanjing bar attacked him on Saturday. According to www.163.com, Tian was beaten after snubbing their toasts.
Tian's version of the story is that there was indeed an altercation but it was because he was being gallant and protecting a fellow actress from the strangers' unwanted attentions. In his blog he said they merely threw objects in his general direction. He insisted that he left the bar soon after with his friends and not one, single, little, air-punch was thrown.
