Wu Xiaoli, a TV anchor with Phoenix TV, has been named the dean of the communication department of the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology.

The institute, which focuses on fashion and design, is boosting its faculty by hiring world-class professors.

In May, it appointed Carol Ann Pries, the former dean of Art and Design, Nottingham Trent University and the former dean of the London College of Fashion, to head its art and technology department.
