This event was hosted by the China Scholarship Council, and organized by Jilin University, Jilin Agricultural University, and Changchun University of Chinese Medicine.

Eighty-five foreign students from 27 countries who had won a Chinese government scholarship visited the Sheling fruits and vegetables base of Changchun Guoxin Modern Agriculture Technology & Development Co. Ltd, the Tianjing corn base of Changchun Tianjing Shipin Co., and the Jilin Provincial Museum of Chinese Medicine.

The opening ceremony was held in Sheling fruits and vegetables base of Changchun Guoxin Modern Agriculture Technology & Development Co. Ltd. The headmaster of Jilin University college of International education, Li Meihua, made an opening speech at the ceremony welcoming all foreign students.

The students were interested in all the organic vegetables planted in greenhouses, and asked lots of technical questions about their countries’ agriculture problems. Then, they picked and tasted persimmons and cucumbers.

Jilin Tianjing Shipin Ltd showed a video introducing Jilin’s crops, and told students how to use regional conditions to develop the corn processing industry. The students then broke off corncobs and tasted delicious natural corn juice.

The last part of their visit was to the Jilin Provincial Museum of Chinese Medicine to learn the medicine’s history. They were impressed by its magic wanted to learn more about it.

The visit was a good opportunity for foreign students to understand Jilin province and appreciate China.
