Remedial measures for certificates being lost, damaged, destroyed, stolen or robbed in China and not being reissued by the host country's embassy or consulate in China

A foreigner who does not hold a valid passport or other international travel credentials due to loss, damage, destruction, theft, robbery, loss of validity or other reasons and cannot get the said passport or documents reissued by the relevant institution of his host country stationed in China may submit a passport loss certificate or a note issued by his/her host country's embassy or consulate in China or the damaged or invalid certificates as well as the temporary identity certificate and apply for exit and entry formalities to the exit-entry administration authority of the public security organ of the local people’s government at or above the county level in the locality of his or her stay or residence, and the validity period of a foreigner’s exit-entry certificate shall not exceed 30 days.
