Working Meeting on Measurement and Analysis of Economic Growth and Fluctuations: Applying the Indicators Approach to Modern Economics, jointly organized by DRC and the Conference Board from the United States, was held in Beijing on January 16th, 2007. Dr. Victor Zarnowitz and senior researchers of the Conference Board gave speeches on global economic growth, business cycle, leading economic indicators, and china coincident economic indicators. Experts from government agencies, universities and other research institutions including DRC, National Development and Reform Commission, People's Bank Of China, National Bureau of Statistics, State Information Center, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Northeast Finance University discussed the methodologies of indicators research, problems existing in domestic research and its potential development direction. Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of DRC’s International Cooperation Department, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Lu Zhongyuan, Director General of Research Dept.of Macroeconomic of DRC hosted the meeting.
