Cheng Guoqiang, director-general of the Information Center of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), led a research group to Chengdu to conduct field studies on the health economy from August 25 to 28.

The research group had discussions with representatives from many local departments. They listened to reports on the development, planning and implementation of Chengdu's health industry and discussed the development model with the departments.

The group also visited the international medical city in Wenjiang district of Chengdu and had discussions with representatives from its administrative committee. They also surveyed several health projects such as CapitalBio Corp, the herbal medicinal garden and the Bayi rehabilitation center.

The team went to Dujiangyan, Sichuan province, for field studies on the senior care sector, post-earthquake rural reconstruction and rural industrial development on Aug 27. The group talked with the Dujiangyan longevity research institute and received first-hand information.
