ZHAO Deru, director of the Research Office (Development Research Center) of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, worked at the Statistic Bureau of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Office of the Financial Leadership Group of the Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the Policy Research Office of the Party Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the Development Research Center of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He has long been engaged in economic work and development research. Having experienced Xinjiang's development over the past three decades since the beginning of the reform and opening up, and been directly involved in the drafting of documents on a succession of major changes in Xinjiang's development, he has a deep insight into Xinjiang's reform, development and stability. He led the writing of the Government Work Report for 10 consecutive years, led and participated in a couple of major research projects organized by state ministries and commissions and Xinjiang. He served as an executive council member at several academic societies in Xinjiang, and a policy advisor to departments or areas. He is currently an expert on the advisory group of the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
