Wei Jianing

Research fellow and inspector, Department of Macroeconomic Research, Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC)

He graduated from Renmin University of China in 1983 and got Bachelor's Degree in national economic planning. From 1994 to 1997, he studied at Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and received PhD degree in economic structure comparison. From 1983 to 1985, he worked at Scientific Research Management Bureau of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. From 1985 to 1988, he was assigned to work in General Office of DRC as secretary to Dr. Sun Shangqing, former President of DRC. From 1988 to 1991, he worked as visiting research fellow respectively at the Institute of Developing Economies of Japan External Trade Organization, the University of Tokyo and the Industrial Bank of Japan. From 1991 to 1998, he worked in Department of Macroeconomic Research of DRC and took the posts respectively as associate research fellow, assistant to Prof. Wu Jinglian, well-known Chinese economist, and Director of Finance Research Office of the Macroeconomic Research Department. From 1998 to 2013, he was Deputy Director-General of Department of Macroeconomic Research; he has served as inspector of the department since 2013.
