Abstract: The construction of new-type think tanks with Chinese characteristics in the new era is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee. General Secretary Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the development of new-type think tanks with Chinese characteristics and has made instructions and put forward requirements on different occasions relating to the construction of China's think tanks. At present, China's think tanks are developing swiftly toward the high-quality level from the initial phase. By following the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, we need to stick to the general political line and overall requirement on high-quality development of think tanks, define the focus of their construction, enhance policy-making consultancy quality and consolidate the theoretical foundation. We need to make clear the key tasks of the construction of new-type think tanks with Chinese characteristic for a new era and make efforts to establish a modernized think tank governance system, improve the cultivation mechanism for high-end professional talents, ensure that policy-making consultancy research results could better correspond to practical issues and enhance the exchanges and cooperation with the world peers. In addition, we need to shore up the system guarantee for high-quality development of new-type think tanks with Chinese characteristics in the new era, intensify organizational management, coordination mechanism, funding guarantee and evaluation system so as to optimize the environment for think tanks' development and push ahead with the all-round and high-quality development of new-type think tanks with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
