Abstract: As time goes on, the elderly's ability to move about and take care of themselves is becoming gradually weak. Therefore, the renovation of elderly-oriented industry and the rehabilitation devices industry for meeting demands of the elderly are two important types of industries for the improvement of the self-care ability of the elderly. The renovation of the living environment and infrastructure for meeting demands of the elderly can make their daily life and travel become more normal and convenient. The application of rehabilitation devices can enable them to look after themselves with improved self-care ability. In recent years, the renovation of elderly-oriented industry for the elderly on improving their living conditions has developed rapidly and renovation projects for the elderly at community level have made initial progress, whereas the upgrading of urban and rural elderly-oriented infrastructure is still insufficient. Although rehabilitation devices have seen remarkable improvement in recent years, many restrictions still remain to be removed. Therefore, relevant departments need to promote the renovation of elderly-oriented industry to meet demands of the elderly, focus on standard development, expand the scope of financing and encourage innovation projects so as to push forward the rehabilitation device industry through various supportive measures and increase the application and accessibility of rehabilitation devices as soon as possible.
