Gansu completes its first science and technology museum construction

The Gansu province's Science and Technology Museum construction project was completed in January, with the museum expected to open in 2016, making it the first science and technology museum in Gansu and the largest science and technology center in the northwestern part of China, according to Gansu's science and technology association.

The Museum sits in the city of Lanzhou, in Gansu province, covering 4.67 square meters of land. It contains 12 functional zones, including a science and technology zone, history and culture zone, and science industry zone, with more than 400 articles that will be on display. To attract more visitors, the Gansu Science and Technology Museum employs modern sound, light, electricity and other high-tech means to show advanced science and technology.

According to Gansu's science and technology association, the museum construction project is a key and the biggest social public welfare project in Gansu, with the government putting great money into the project looking to match the standard of a national first-class science and technology museum. And Gansu government expressed that it wanted the museum to increase the public’s science awareness and spur the innovation.
