The Hebei government recently issued a notice concerning food safety prevention during Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day. The notice required the whole province to strengthen food safety measures during the two major holidays.
According to the notice, Hebei province will focus on food safety inspection and improvement in rural areas and local special product manufacturing areas. It will also intensify spot checks and market patrols to inspect popular holiday products such as moon cakes, edible oil, meat, dairy, children's food and health food. Elimination of swill-cooked oil and clenbuterol in meat are top priorities for the province. In addition, all kinds of illegal production and sale will be seriously punished.
All relevant departments in Hebei are required to be on duty during the two major holidays. Early warning systems and emergency response systems will be established to resolutely and properly deal with emerging incidents. |
