A huge steel reinforcement cage measuring 25 meters high and 6 meters wide was placed underground at Shijiluyuan station, the first station of the new Baotou metro on July 6. It marks a new stage in construction work on Baotou’s metro.

Shijiluyuan station is a two-story underground structure, with the first floor containing the station hall and the second floor containing the platforms. The station is 180 meters long and 20.1 meters wide, and the platform is 11 meters wide.

After building the exterior of the station, work will start on the interior. Baotou is currently aiming to complete work on its metro system ahead of schedule.
