China's Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co got the China Industrial Award at a ceremony, on May 17, in Beijing, the first time for the Shanxi company to win the prize.
The group have followed a the concept of "Using innovation to win", for science and management and have a number of stainless steel products, R&D, and their own key technology that is a global leader and the only ferrous metallurgy company chosen as a national technology and innovation demonstration.
The group, as the largest stainless steel company in the world by scale, has more than 100 stainless patents at the international level and has participated in the national standards compiling of 10 stainless steel and related products, It has the most advanced technology and equipment and the most complete products classification. Its stainless steel production and market share has stayed at No.1 for four years in a row.
The China's Industrial Award is the country's highest honor for industry, with State Council backing, and is referred to as Chinese industry's "Oscar". It comes in two forms – the "Industrial Award" and "Industrial Reorganization Award" and is given every three years. This year, 42 companies and 24 programs got the recognition.
