With a theme of innovation, transformation, cooperation and sharing, the 2018 Coal Trade Conference of China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center (CTCTC) commenced in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province, on Dec 6.
Shanxi has been exploring furthering supply-side structural reform, establishing a modern coal economic system and advancing transformation of the resource-dependent economy in recent years.
Against this backdrop, the conference committed to establishing a coal trade platform, innovating on coal transaction patterns, making joint efforts to push forward the upgrading of the coal industry and energy revolution when developing a system for trading coal.

Some 3,000 representatives and dealers from Shanxi coal industrial giants, domestic power companies, noted iron and steel businesses, chemical and construction materials companies, key ports and financial institutions, such as Datong Coal Mine Group, State Powers Investment Co, and Tianjin Port, exchanged ideas, explored new ways of working and shared achievements in coal-related fields at forums and seminars during the conference.
To promote the connection of coal production, demand and transportation, several trade fairs and exhibitions, including a provincial coal-electricity trade fair were organized and one focusing on data and coal.

Also, a big data platform for energy was launched and Changzhi city branch of CTCTC was founded during the conference.
CTCTC has held many sessions of its annual coal trade conference in recent years and organized a national coal trade conference in the summer of 2016, developing the Taiyuan coal trade conference into a national brand recognized by businesspeople in the industry.
