China mulls lifting anti-dumping measures on ECH

BEIJING - The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Monday it will reexamine lifting anti-dumping measures on epichlorohydrin (ECH) imported from four countries.
The ministry will evaluate the possibilities of dumping and damages if the measures were lifted, said a statement on the MOC website.
The MOC imposed five-year anti-dumping duties of up to 71.5 percent on ECH from Russia, the Republic of Korea, Japan and the United States on June 28, 2006, after finding the imports hurt interests of domestic sector.
The examination will start from Tuesday in response to applications by domestic ECH producers on April 13 and will be finished within 12 months, the MOC said.
The chemical is widely used in medicine, organic solvents and plastic manufacturing.
