The Forth Bridge is a cantilever railway bridge across the Firth of Forth in the east of Scotland, 14 kilometers west of Edinburgh. It is considered an iconic structure and a symbol of Scotland. Construction of the bridge began in 1882 and it opened on March 4, 1890.

Zhongshan Bridge, a steel bridge across the Yellow River in Lanzhou, Northwest China's Gansu province, was the first steel bridge over the 5,464-km Yellow River. It was built in 1907 and named "Yellow River Steel Bridge" at first. Until 1942, it was renamed Zhongshan Bridge to commemorate Sun yat-sen.
