Visit the real Wudang Mountain after enjoying the movie

An action movie called "Wu Dang" premiered on August 6. It was shot at the world cultural heritage site—Wudang Mountain. After watching the movie, many audience members went to the mountain to see the real sites.

The movie follows a group of treasure hunters and stars many famous actors such as Zhao Wenzhuo, a mainland kung fu star, and actress Yang Mi. Movies released during summer vacation find it easier to draw a big audience. Films are the most popular art form and the shooting sites are appealing to people. The shooting sites of this movie include the Gold Hall, South Cliff, Purple Cloud Palace, Crown Prince's Slope and Five-Dragon Palace. The movie's eye-catchers are the martial arts, the Taoist ambience and the fresh mountain air.

Wudang Mountain is regarded as one of the 10 major summer resorts in China, with an average annual temperature of 16 degrees Celsius. People can enjoy the spring weather here all year round.

In 1412, Emperor Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1360-1424) initiated the construction of the imperial palaces and buildings on the mountain. After 600 years, these buildings are still well preserved. The ancient building complex is honored as a museum of China's classical architectural arts.

The Golden Hall is located on the top of the mountain. Visitors who want to visit the Golden Hall have to walk through a crack between the Golden Hall's exterior wall and the Good Luck Hall's interior wall. As soon as you step into the crack, you can barely see anything. It is a great adventure to walk around in complete darkness. After getting to the Golden Hall, one should visit the old Gold Hall, which was built in the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368). The old hall is now called the Good Luck Hall.

In the evening "Tai Chi Wudang", a martial arts musical performance, will wow audiences with tai chi kung fu. Audiences also have the chance to engage in interactive activities with the actors on stage.

Transportation: You can take a high-speed train from Guangdong to Wuhan and then switch to a nonstop coach to Wudang Mountain.

Accommodation: There are a large number of hotels with prices ranging from 15 yuan ($2.35) to 300 yuan ($47.07) per night.

Food: The Wudang Taoist food is organic and delicious and mainly prepared from the vegetation grown on the mountain.
