The compatriots of Taiwan may feel the charm of Chengdu, the hometown of "Kung Fu Panda", without leaving Taiwan.
The Chengdu Tourism Taipei Experience Center, founded under the joint efforts of Chengdu Municipal Administration of Tourism, Chengdu Culture Travel Group and Taiwan Lion Travel Group, was officially opened in Taipei Aug 26.
As indicated by the statistical data from the Chengdu Municipal Administration of Tourism in 2010, Taiwan has the highest growth margin and largest potential of the tourist source markets in Chengdu. In the recent years, Taiwan has been in first or second place in terms of the number of inbound tourists to Chengdu. Attracted by the tourism opportunity from Taiwan, Chengdu established the Taipei tourism experience center, hoping to attract more tourists from Taiwan.
In order to create a unique style, the Chengdu Tourism Taipei Experience Center chose the well-known "wide and narrow lanes" and "national treasure panda" as two key images for the center. The center also chose defining leisure, fun and culture as the thematic spirits of design. The hardware facilities of the center are planned with the lovely shape of a panda as the theme. The center arouses peoples' interest in traveling to Chengdu. Meanwhile, the center also has specific staff providing consulting service for the planning of a Chengdu tour and introducing detailed information about the food, accommodation, interested places and scenic spots of Chengdu.
"The center adopts a white and concise design style and the image of a lovely panda, and expects the close interaction and considerate consulting service can make Taiwan compatriots feel the charm and rich cultural connotation of the tourist attractions in Chengdu," an official from the Chengdu Culture Travel Group said. The official revealed a Taiwan-based website for Chengdu tourism has been opened. The website introduces scenery, food, Sichuan Opera and other key elements of Chengdu in the form of video and audio. The site was created with the mentality of Chinese tourists in mind, adding an online map and adopting a layout that suits Taiwan peoples' habit of browsing websites. It also stresses the concepts of "marvelous enjoyment" and "intellectual culture", and publishes the latest information about related activities.
