The "Innovation-Driven Development" Forum of Beijing Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park Academician Workstation was held several days ago and nine companies in Fengtai Science Park have established academician workstations.

In addition, Beijing Railway Research & Design Institute of Signal & Communication Ltd expressed interest in cooperating with Zhang Ba, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Science, in the field of data processing techniques of railway signaling; CPCEP Ltd said it hoped to join hands with Cen Ke, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, in finding ways to solve problems such as controlling PM2.5 pollution; and Beijing BSS Corrosion Protection Industry Ltd applied to work with Xu Binshi and his team in researching thermal spray technology in a marine environment.

Zhou Lijun, deputy president of the Beijing Municipal Association for Science and Technology, said 53 academician workstations and six academician service centers have been established in Beijing, involving a total of 111 academicians.

By February this year, the cooperative projects of the workstations applied 406 patents and 163 authorizations, ]received 10 national level awards and 57 Beijing municipal or industrial awards, creating economic benefit of about 17 billion.
