Global Programmers' Festival to return The second Global Programmers' Festival will be held on Oct 24-25 in Xi’an, Shaanxi province with the theme "Digital world, coding the future" and the focus on "humans".

The event will center on a group of topics, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the spirit of programmers, pragmatic innovations, innovation talents and defining the world with software.

Two papers will be released at the opening ceremony: a blue paper of reviews and the prospect of software industry development since reform and opening-up, and an index of industry and information of countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative.

A coding competition will be held and the shortlist of top 10 programmers of China and top 10 programmers of Xi'an will be released.

On?the evening of Oct 23, a traditional ceremony will be held at the South Gate of Xi'an, offering global guests an opportunity to experience the prosperity and openness of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), when Xi'an was the capital city of imperial China.

It will coincide with a carnival at night in the entrepreneurship incubation block of Xi'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

The Coding the Future Main Forum will open on Oct 24. A group of industry leaders will deliver a keynote speech at thematic seminar. An interactive section that enables the attendees in Xi'an venue to communicate with four sub-sites in Beijing, Nanjing, Bangalore in India and Silicon Valley in the US.

In the afternoon, a theme forum: Innovation and Transformation in the Era Defined by Software will provide suggestions to traditional IT firms.

A programmer's carnival will be staged later that day. It will include seminars, performances, float parade and food festival.

The next day, the "Science leads the future" Forum will offer participants a chance to learn the latest scientific discoveries. Professionals will have round-table discussions on the new strengths that change the world.

In addition, another forum -"Building the New Heights of Digital Economy" and the award ceremony for programmers will also be held on that day.
