Improving judicial support for a beautiful China

Continuously improving judicial capacity to guarantee China's ecological construction was stressed at a recent judicial conference on environment protection.

The second judicial conference on environment resources was held in Central China's Henan province on Nov 22.

Zhou Qiang, chief justice and president of the Supreme People's Court (SPC), said optimizing trials on environment resources is a must to promote the building of a beautiful China.

Courts at various levels in China have tried many types of cases related to environment resources and strengthened judges' professional judicial capacity, which has contributed to protection of the ecological safety of China and people's environmental rights.

Meanwhile, courts also made efforts to promote publicity and education in the law and increase international judicial exchanges and cooperation to guarantee ecological civilization construction and high-quality economic growth.

Zhou urged that all courts must continue to optimize judicial mechanisms in environment-related cases and improve regional judicial cooperation.

He also suggested that courts should look into people's judicial needs regarding the environment and let people feel fairness and justice in every case.
