BOE eyes Russian market

A new subsidiary of BOE Technology based in Moscow, was launched on June 26. The new company will be involved in the mobile panel and display screen industry, marking the remarkable progress BOE has made in expanding abroad.
In February, BOE signed a cooperation agreement with Huawei, one of China’s top networking and telecommunications equipment providers, to boost its prestige in Russia’s video market.
The alliance was established during a three-day international expo highlighting communication devices that opened in Moscow on Feb 7, with more than 10 Chinese companies attending the expo, including BOE and Huawei.
BOE expects to sell 4K Ultra HD TVs in Russia, with BOE being the supplier of display screens and Huawei being the supplier of television signal technology.
Russia, which is the largest country in the world by surface area, depends on heavy industry to support its economy. Most of the consumer electronic products sold in the Russian market are imported, with 35 percent coming from China.
BOE has been one of Russia’s LCD TV panel suppliers since 2015.
