BAIC BJEV marks growth in sales volume

Beijing Electric Vehicle Co (BAIC BJEV), BAIC Group's electric car making arm, marked strong sales growth with a total of 103,199 vehicles sold in 2017, year-on-year growth of 98 percent, according to local media.
It is the only electric vehicle manufacturer in China that sells more than 100,000 vehicles annually.
Also, to boost innovation and the company’s prestige, the BDA-based company is to establish a technological innovation center worth 1.5 billion yuan ($217 million) in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area.
The innovation center will cover an area of more than 40,000 square meters. Striving to become one of the leading innovation centers globally, the center will concentrate on developing demonstration bases for new energy automobiles, smart transportation systems and the internet of things (IoT).
