Eight arrested in Mexico plane hijack: US official

WASHINGTON: Eight individuals have been arrested by Mexican authorities in the hijacking of an AeroMexico passenger plane that landed in Mexico City, a US official said on Wednesday, citing preliminary information.

There were 112 people aboard the plane, including Mexicans, Americans and French, the official said, declining to be further identified.
