China has implement a new national train schedule aimed at bolstering international freight services and enhancing the overall quality of freight transportation, improving service capabilities and maintaining robust international supply chains, the national railway operator China State Railway Group said on Friday.

The updated schedule features 93 planned routes connecting China and Europe, including two new lines, as well as 40 routes linking China with Central Asia. This expansion is intended to enhance the quality of freight transport and ensure the stability and efficiency of international supply chain operations. New cross-Baltic transport routes will further reinforce connectivity between China and its global partners.

To facilitate smoother operations, railway authorities are collaborating closely with customs departments to promote a fast customs clearance model for rail transport. This effort aims to enhance the capacity and efficiency of port clearances, supporting seamless domestic and international circulation.

In addition to international routes, the new schedule optimizes domestic express freight services. A total of 131 intercity freight trains will now be operational, alongside 123 multimodal transport services that enhance connectivity between key logistics hubs.

One standout addition is the upgraded intercity freight service between Guangzhou in Guangdong province and Xi'an in Shaanxi province. This service has increased its speed from 80 km/h to 120 km/h, cutting transit time by nearly nine hours and significantly boosting trade between Shaanxi and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Moreover, a new intercity freight line specifically designed for transporting new energy vehicles has been introduced. This line operates from Nanjing in Jiangsu province to Xinfeng in Shaanxi, utilizing specially designed trains that can transport about 290 electric cars per trip. This development aligns with the rising demand for new energy vehicles in China.

Looking ahead, the national railway plans to maintain its passenger service schedule while remaining flexible to fluctuating demand. New tourist routes have also been introduced to support the travel economy, facilitating journeys to scenic areas across the country.

China's national railway network regularly adjusts its schedule every quarter to meet the evolving needs of passengers and logistics, ensuring efficient and reliable service.
