'Role model' team protects juveniles

Chongqing procuratorates' juvenile protection work team, which was named Role Model of the Times, shared its stories at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sunday. The event was jointly organized by the Communist Party of China Central Committee's Publicity Department and the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee. Six representatives from the team shared touching stories of their contributions to safeguarding the rights and wellbeing of juveniles. They emphasized that protecting minors requires both the strength of law and the warmth of humanity, ensuring that every case helps build public trust in justice.

Chinese scholar honored at Kremlin

Professor Wang Wen, dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies and the School of Global Leadership at Renmin University of China, has received the Jubilee Medal For Labors Reward from the Free Economic Society of Russia (VEO) for his long-term contributions to academic and public exchanges between China and Russia. The medal was presented at the State Kremlin Palace during the 260th anniversary celebration of the VEO. Established by Catherine the Great in 1765, the VEO is one of Russia's oldest academic organizations. The Labors Reward medal is among Russia's most prestigious academic honors. It is awarded once every ten years to no more than 15 distinguished figures in science and public diplomacy.

Former Pudong official faces trial

A public prosecution has been initiated against Zhu Zhisong, former secretary of the Communist Party of China's Pudong New Area District Committee in Shanghai, on bribery charges. The case against Zhu was filed by prosecutors of the Nanchang municipal people's procuratorate in Jiangxi province to the Intermediate People's Court of Nanchang, the Supreme People's Procuratorate announced on Tuesday. Zhu is accused of taking advantage of his various former positions in Shanghai to secure profits for others and accepting an extremely large amount of money and valuables in return, the SPP said in a statement. The lawsuit follows the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision.
