Professionals from Taiwan may jointly run an accounting company at the Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ), authorities said, according to ptnet.cn on Aug 13.

In a directive approved by the provincial department, Taiwan people can be partners at accounting firms in three areas of the Fujian FTZ.

The Fujian FTZ was officially inaugurated in April with relaxed investment rules to speed up reforms amid economic hardships. It has three parts in Fuzhou, Xiamen and Pingtan.

Accounting is one of the high-end professions that appeals to elite workers in Taiwan. Allowing Taiwan accountants to run firms in Pingtan will be conducive to its key industrial projects, according to insiders.
