The 2nd Anhui Folk Culture Festival will be opened in Tongling next month. At the press conference of the 2nd Anhui Folk Culture Festival held on October 17, the organizer said this festival would be pleasing to both the stomachs and the eyes. The festival is sure not let people down.

"This year’s folk culture festival aims to create good times for citizens and tourists in Tianjing town,” said Li Jingming, director of the Publicity Department of Tongling Municipal Party Committee.

According to the organizers, the just-completed Anhui Folk Custom Garden will officially open to visitors at the festival.

The folk custom garden will be ticket-free. “During the festival, there will be many attractions in the 4-story folk custom garden,” Li Jingming siad. The folk custom garden covers an area of 22,000 square meters. Its first floor has a Jiangnan Baigongfang, a folk custom stage and a 4D folk custom cinema.

"All kinds of unique folk skills, folk productions, folk shows and operas will be performed here,” said Li Jingming. The 4D cinema with a theme of folk custom, the first ever in the province, will be unveiled during the folk culture festival. “In regards to the 4D cinema, a 10 minutes folk custom cartoon performance will be shown. It is very interesting.”

After you have walked for some time, you may feel hungry. Then you can go to the second floor offering a large variety of delicious food. As mentioned by Li Jingming, the second floor of the folk village will have a collection of local snacks and food stalls from all parts of the province. On the third and fourth floors, there will be the courtyards with folk characteristics. The first Jiangnan international tea art show and Anhui folk custom photography show will be held on these floors.

The province is pleased to present to its guests a wonderful program inside the folk village. Performance at the town square near the village will be also staged.

"In the square, unique skills, Qu Yi, wedding culture exhibition, prayer, an animal releasing ceremony and folk custom corridor exhibition will be held,” said Li Jingming. All citizens and tourists may attend these activities.

It is worth noting that the seven movie halls of HBC in Tianjing town will be open to citizens and tourists free of charge during the folk culture festival, playing films about folk custom.

After the folk culture festival, the newly completed Anhui Folk Village will be open to the citizens as a cultural and tourist attraction with local characteristic all the year round and free of charge.
