Juneyao Airlines opens direct flight to Kaohsiung and Taipei
Juneyao Airlines recently announced that they will open a direct flight from Shanghai to Kaohsiung starting November 11. The flight will depart every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. In addition, a flight from Shanghai to Taipei will be opened from December 11 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
First private airlines, more preferential policies
These are the first two air routes across the Straits opened by private airlines. Juneyao Airlines provides many preferential policies. Passengers can get concession tickets one-way at a low price of 1,050 yuan (tax exclusive) ($171.45) and a round-trip ticket for 1,350 yuan as long as they book the tickets 45 days ahead. Juneyao Airlines also introduced a "Taiwan travel package" for frequent passengers travelling across the Straits. Travelers who buy eight tickets at economy class across the Straits can enjoy a low price of 15,950 yuan per set, 40 percent lower than the original cost. Integrated marketing strategy to increase ticket sales
Juneyao Airlines plans to arrange an Airbus A-320 for the flights for Kaohsiung and Taipei. Every plane has eight business class seats and 150 economy seats. To date, Juneyao Airlines has 33 new Airbus A-320 aircrafts, and the number will increase to 34 by the end of this year. From the beginning of 2014, Juneyao Airlines plans to put four A-321 airplanes into use.
In order to introduce itself to passengers in Taiwan, Juneyao Airlines has decided to offer passengers on the first six flights between Shanghai and Kaohsiung a reduced round-trip price of 900 yuan (tax exclusive).
In addition, Juneyao Airlines has adopted new marketing strategies to attract customers. Just before the opening of the Kaohsiung flight, Juneyao Airlines introduced a series of marketing methods, including flight information software on PC and mobile phones developed by Juneyou Airlines as well as an official micro blog and WeChat offering free ticket rewards from Taipei or Kaohsiung. Also, passengers in certain seat numbers from Taiwan to Shanghai can get train tickets from Pudong Airport to downtown for free.
